Since the inn is in a national historic district, signs are not allowed. (Don’t look for a typical B & B shingle.) However, there is a plaque next to the front door with the address, 1815, and “Napoleon’s Retreat” printed on it. Parking is on-street in front of the inn, no restrictions.
From the west, including the airport, take I-70 East to downtown St. Louis. As you approach the arch and downtown, merge into the I-55 South lane. Once you are on I-55 South, you will stay on that for about 1 ½ miles, then take I-44 West (to Tulsa.) Stay on that for ½ mile, then exit at Jefferson Ave., turn right and then immediately right onto Lafayette Ave. Proceed approx. ½ mile. After you cross Mississippi St., the inn is the 12 house on the left.
From Illinois, whether coming in on I-55, I-64 or
I-70, you'll want to take I-55 south as you cross the Mississippi
into St. Louis. Follow the signs for I-44 west (to Tulsa)
and get onto I-44 (you'll be on it for less than a mile),
then exit at Jefferson. Turn right onto Jefferson, then immediately
turn right again onto Lafayette, and proceed 1/2 mile to inn.
From the south, coming in on I-55, exit on I-55 north to the Truman Parkway exit
just before the I-44 exit. The off-ramp will deposit you at
Lafayette, at which point you'll turn left and proceed two
blocks to the inn.
From the southwest, coming in on I-44, exit at Jefferson,
turn left onto Jefferson, go under the I-44 overpass, and
turn right onto Lafayette. Proceed 1/2 mile to inn. |
